Prayer and Devotion
St. Pio Prayer Group
This group with a special devotion to St. Pio meets each Tuesday in the Chapel from 2pm to 3:30pm to pray and to recite the Holy Rosary. Saint Pio was credited with thousands of miraculous cures during his lifetime, and is still venerated as a miracle-worker.
Divine Mercy Prayer Group
Meets after the Friday 12 PM Mass
The Divine Mercy Prayer Group was formed September 2016. We started with a small group of parishioners, Cynthia Alfonso and Roma O’Hara (originators), Fran Cutignola, MaryJayne Giarritta, Lola Sobrino, and Orsola Marsalisi. We now have over twenty members. We are a prayer group that prays for personal intentions and for the whole world.
In addition to our collective prayer, we collect non- compulsory donations for charitable causes. In the past our group donated to hurricane victims, purchased hats, gloves, scarves and socks for the homeless shelter, and financially contributed to a few needy families so they could have a blessed and happy Christmas, etc. We have also hosted a retreat in the church. Our host speaker was Sister Ave Clark, a Dominican nun and coordinator of the ‘Heart to Heart Ministry’, who spoke of God’s love and mercy. After the uplifting event, we enjoyed fellowship and refreshments which included a spectacular cake.
All are welcome to join. To join you can contact:
